The unique weather conditions experienced throughout the year leading up to harvest have set the stage for what promises to be a standout vintage.

The 2024 harvest was characterised by small bunches, small berries, and a smaller crop, but it holds a lot of potential. This is a vintage where as a winemaker, your skill and understanding of the unique South African terroir is on full display, working with a lighter crop to craft authentic expressions of the viticultural diversity.

The season was a short and fast-paced harvest, with the last grapes coming in two weeks ahead of when they normally would, but as resilient South African's we adapt and overcome, carry the lessons from previous seasons and leverage on the unique weather patterns to produce wines of unparalleled quality. The smaller, concentrated berries suggest a promising year, with the potential to rival some of the best vintages in recent history.

I am personally very excited to see the outcome of our 2024 Flying Winemaker South African Wines and can't wait to get them to you later this year!
